Fabulous Fashion Friday: January Color Stories

Kick It is packed with new January arrivals~still warm and cozy pieces~that are showing bright color transitions toward Spring.  We're also excited about the trend in textures right now, from angora "eye lash" knits to sequin-infused lace!  So we thought we'd give you a snapshot of what's in store today, for a little shopping inspiration this weekend!  

Color Story No. 1

Rust, Cream and Silver

Try pumping up your greys and silvers with bright orange accents like a scarf or cardigan.  Conversely, look for a bright orange dress and soften it with grey or cream layers.  Also, creams and silvers together makes a nice Winter statement too, especially if decorated with sparking gold or sterling jewelry.

CLOSE UP: Keep an eye out for the new, amazing textures out there today!  If there is sparkle or sequins in the fabric, even better!

Cool Blues and Icy White

We like to remind our customers that white is a great "color" to mix in, too!  We especially love the cool blues ~~teal, ocean green, navy, slate and Robin's egg blue~~to mix with whites and black.  It's soooo Seattle!  (Color story shown with Kenneth Cole leather street kickers,

CLOSE UP:  This season, look for fuzzy yarns, nubby "flecked" sweaters, pleated fabrics, pointelle knits or slubby-burnout jersey to add depth to your look. Caution: strangers may want to pet you!

Color Story No. 3

Chartreuse, Jade, Purples, and Black

We were so inspired by Jessica Weathersby's artwork ~~now on display at Kick It~~that we built a color story around  her unique purple, green, yellow, orange palette.  

CLOSE-UP: We want our closet at home to look like this: filled with solid black options surrounded by bright jewel tones: Emerald green,  purple Amethyst , golden Citrine, black Spinel and dark-pink Chalcedony!
