Fabulous Fifty-Shades-of-Grey Friday

The cool cloud cover today is a welcome relief from our recent sweltering Autumn days.  It reminds us of the many grey garments we have in our closet and begs the question: what do I wear with all this grey?  We scoured a few of our favorite vendors' look books for ideas and have these recommendations below.  Our conclusion?  Grey goes with just about everything and is the perfect base for our Seattle Style.

Concrete Grey and Lemon Yellow
This look features our UrbanX air-brushed concrete grey top, Made in the USA, $34.50
The popular high-low hem will continue year 'round.  This skirt is from our summer collection, but mixed with greys and strong accessories, it transitions nicely to Fall!
Heather Grey & Jade
Look for beautiful blocked prints that juxtapose greys with pastels, like this YA LA light-weight sweater ($37.50) coming to Kick It next month.
We love that the "pop" of color here is actually black :-)
 Dusty Pink & Charcoal Grey
Notice the subtle-grey threads in the sweater.
Though this color pallet is muted, the tattered textures gives it that urban edge.
A statement necklace mixed with black and silver ends up "reading" grey
and picks up the charcoal grey denim.
Cloud Grey and Skin
Sometimes ultra-soft greys look amazing in skin-revealing shorts or mini-skirts.  These rockin' cute moto-boots gives it a Fall feel.  (We'd add pale yellow tights and a black vinyl bomber jacket to this look when it gets colder.)
This Fall, look for amazing sweatshirts with unique tie dye flourishes and paint-splatters like this one by MonoB ($29).  Bonus: Kangaroo Pocket!
Coral and Heather Grey
Another interesting block print for Fall by YA LA, Checkerboard Top ($36),
mixed with grey and pastels set off by black!
Look how cute: each sleeve is a different color!

Warm Grey & Ivory
We love the warmer-greys--sometimes called Mushroom or Stone--mixed with ivory.
The Aztec-inspired print in warm-grey against the soft ivory is
subtle, sophisticated and so in-style!

Here's the same top with warm-grey and teal (our favorite); and,
warm-grey with mustard (a classic color combo).
We're getting this fabulous cotton-terry top by YA LA ($32) next week!
Silvery Grey with Burgundy
This gorgeous zig zag knit statement sweater by YA LA ($48, coming to Kick It next month) positions silver-grey against deep burgundy.  The bold top is balanced with ultra light grey (almost white) jeggings and grey suede booties.
Sparkling silver lurex and fluffy soft "eyelash" threads  create this unusual knit combo.
Here it is in Silver & Snowy White with a bold pop of Royal Blue!
We'd save this bright look for the dead of winter.

Deep Charcoal and Black
For a rich alternative to an all black evening look, consider a super-textured all-grey cable knit sweater that has so much depth, no additional color is needed.
Talk about 50 Shades of Grey! This gorgeous, scrub-dyed cotton sweater
by MonoB ($48) arrives next month.

Peace Out Seattle, and have a great, colorful grey weekend!
