From the Archives: Fabulous Fashion Friday-June 17th: Brighten with White

Bonjour, ladies! When inventing the perfect outfit, one must add a color that pops and nothing shouts louder than the freshest and brightest "color" of them all: White!  The simple yet outstanding color in fashion adds a classic and eye catching element to any outfit, but this color can sometimes be thought of as a "flat" or "boring". Here are some ways to throw out that stereotype and create a breathtaking affect for the classiest outfit imaginable.

Tip #1: Darling Drapes and Details

Choosing a white garment with drapes and details can help it stand out significantly. Notice how the draping layers of this shirt paired with details such as the rosettes around the collar and bow around the waist help the white blouse to be more intriguing.

Here's a close up of the of the rosettes around the collar. They are so dainty yet make such a bold statement.

Even the hat has a bow on the back. Whites are all about the details.

Tip #2: Accessorize White with White! 

Adding white to white is a winning combination. It add's layers to the outfit that tie them all together and believe it or not, actually help each article of clothing and accessory to stand out more! With this outfit I added a white purse and sunglasses to compliment a white shirt and had an amazing outcome.

This fun and casual combination can be worn to not only hang out, but to stand out. The shirt on it's own might have drowned in the outfit's lack of color, but the purse and sunglasses pull it together with style.

Tip #3: Bold Textures and Pretty Patterns 

Again, accessorizing with white is key, but wearing your whites over a garment with a white patterns, now that's an eye catcher! The adorable white pattern on this dress almost acts as an accessory itself.

Now, when talking about adding bold textures, the addition helps the white to not be "flat". This pom-pom scarf adds the perfect amount of texture to the outfit, whereas a white scarf with no texture can be dainty and beautiful, but won't add the same flair.

So there you have it, a variety of ways to make what was once a boring color a bold one! And, as the experts like to put it... White is the new black!
