Artwalk Party with Fine Art (Fashion) Photographer Laura Gehring

This Saturday--August 11 from 6 to 9 p.m., Kick It is proud to showcase new works by local photographer Laura Gehring.  Based out of Seattle, Laura Gehring is a commercial photographer specializing in fashion.

Works on Display Gehring's brand new 2012 series entitled "Misleading Maxims" encompasses multi-dimensional, beautiful images of women in period attire juxtaposed against artful objects and quirky settings that both complement and contradict the subjects' inner contemplation. She writes, "Each character’s story of loss, gain, or greed brings forth a projection of history onto today’s ideologies, unearthing contemporary affects in the process."

Artist's Bio
Transitioning from congenial origins in rural Idaho to the urban setting of Seattle, Laura has encountered numerous people from different walks of life and heard their stories which fuels her desire to capture an individual’s inner beauty. 

Connecting genuinely with people establishes a relationship and affords Laura a sincere perception of her subjects. This unique personal connection inspires her to translate each concept into imagery.

Working with fashion designers, art directors, and models throughout the Seattle area, Laura brings a amiable demeanor to any team and has a sincere passion for her craft.
