FROM THE ARCHIVES: Fabulous Fashion Friday, March 30th: Color Me Pretty

Spring color trends have been off the charts this year with bold color-block patterns and vivid, electric solids taking center stage. The super stars are deeply saturated primaries especially: royal blue, electric lemon yellow, bright fuchsia and juicy tangerine.  Whether you want to dress up for a night out or create a casual look, here are a few ways to wear these little zingers!

The Neon Block Print-
The most fashion forward trend this year has been the bold, brash, block-print and we are absolutely loving it in neon primaries! When wearing a block print, especially one that sports such electric colors, you barely have to accessorize! But if you do, try it with hints of black like we did here with the heels and belt.

Monica Dress by Crimson Ivy - $34  Madeline satin peep toes - $46.
The wild and sharp edges in this geometric design practically vibrate!

Sublimation printing on the fabric leaves little streaks of white to break up the color blocks.
The block print is just as exciting in the back as the front!
Here's a close-up of the gorgeous jewelry worn by our model. We didn't want to overpower her, so we paired this wild dress with simple classic circles by Seattle-based Seville Designs.

Bright and Casual-
For a calmer, casual version of the color blocking craze try some of the bold chevron-striped garments. Layer over the basics.  Hot pink is especially fun!
Kessley loose-knit cardi - $36.
The graduated colors from white to fuchsia offer a bold pop, but the eye moves smoothly down the stripes accentuating the figure. Of course we love the flyaway cardi because it is so flattering on just about any shape or size.
These bold stripes need no accessory: the exciting pattern does it all.
The Stylish Solid-
The best thing about this year's primary colors trend is that even solids are extremely fun and appealing.  By far our top pick is the deep Royal Blue. You almost feel regal donning this vivid hue, especially when featured in a gorgeous party dress.

Laser cut ruffled one-sleeve cocktail dress by Umgee - $36
The flowers on this dress are laser cut, which adds a wonderful illusion of lace on elegant cascading ruffles.

To balance the ruffles, the back of the dress is elegantly smooth all except for a little ruffle at the bottom. So cute!
I love the lady-like length of the hemline.
For jewelry, we paired the royal blue with its complementary color tangerine orange. Though tiny & delicate, the orange gemstones really pop against the blue!

This sterling silver hoop w/carnelian set is made by Seville Designs and can be found in our sister shop Ponytail Jewelry Studio $75).  http://ponytailjewelry.blogspot.com/
