From the Archives: Fabulous Fashion Friday, Sept. 23: Hi-Lo Hemlines Take a Cue from Nature

In nature, few things are symetrical.  One of the most exciting trends for Fall are the assymetrical hemlines on skirts, dresses, tops and cardis.  Their assymetry flatters and flirts and, we think, are the perfect "frame" to show off your boots!

For today's look, I started with a bouncy-rayon hi-lo skirt in taupe over the model's own Kenneth Cole tan wedge boots. I layered a simple cream cammie under an olive green mock-cowel neck for an earthy color scheme.  I layered two metal and gemstone necklaces (long with short) then added the aviators for a touch of "cool".  Finally, I finished the nature-inspired look with a long sleeve uneven hem cardigan in the same olive green for a rich organic feel.  Here's the gorgeous result:

The featured skirt is high in the front to show off your boots....

Low in the back to show off your booty!

You can also turn the skirt 180 degrees so the high-low goes from side to side!

Soft rayon knits in earthly colors flow beautifully together.

The uneven hem on this gorgeous Elan cardi perfectly flows with the Hi-Lo skirt.

Mixed-n-Matched jewelry looks amazing set against the deep olive background.

Wow.  So soft and natural with a little bit of "edge".
I hope you are inspired to get unbalanced this fall with new uneven and hi-lo hemlines. Look for soft knit fabrics, like the ones shown here, so they gently ebb & flow, just like nature.

Peace my lovelies!
