Big Dolmans over Micro Mini's...Kick It's January Style Inspiration

It's January, it's cold, and as we save up for soon-to-arrive Spring Styles we're craving something new now to tie us over!  May we suggest an easy (inexpensive) Dolman* sleeve top paired with a stretchy miniskirt over leggings & chunky boots?  Check out a few of these inspiring Winter looks now available in store.
We call this the Game On look!  This outdoorsy urban look starts with an all-black foundation and a powerful printed Dolman-sleeve tribal top by Sanjoy, $34.50.
Notice how the bulkiness of the Dolman sleeve top is balanced by the skintight mini and leggings.  These stompy engineer boots ground the whole look. And the soft-greys & black color palette with pops of burgundy match our wintery moods.
For a feminine touch, we added light, modern jewelry borrowed from our sister shop Ponytail Jewelry Studio, including hand-forged fine silver "Huge-n-Happy" hoop earrings by VieVisuelle ($32), and Arrowhead lariat choker by ShayD Design, $42.
This full-dolman sleeve top features a "directional" design that guides the eye.
If you're admiring the boots in today's photoshoot, they are our best-selling Irmana Lace-up by BOS & Co, ($228).  These bad-a$$ beauties are handcrafted with water-proofed leather and made in Portugal.  Shown in black, also available in dark brown.
For our next look we paired a burgundy jacquard knit micro-mini by Very J ($42) with an easyfit modal Dolman top for a super wearable day look that is a signature of Seattle's urban style.  Simple fine-silver jewelry adds a feminine touch to this otherwise boyish look.
This Dolman sleeve is more subtle than in Look One, and we love the slimming effect
of the narrowing rouched waist band. Doesn't this outfit look soft and warm?
The flowy sleeve on top and chunky boot on the bottom provides a
nice frame for the body hugging middle.
Next, we changed out just the top for a mixed modal+velvet hi-low hem gentle dolman sleeve top by Chatoyant ($38) and were delighted by the dressier, edgier result!
We adore the pop of burgundy paired with the pop of black velvet (see close-up below)
This edgy evening look is strengthened with those incredible boots! Imagine stomping all over Cap-hill in this Friday night ensemble?
The black velvet trim adds an unexpected texture over the brocade skirt...soft to the touch and elegant feeling!
Perfectly Styled and 100% Winter Ready!

*Originally "dolaman"--a turkish word referring to a long and loose robe worn generally by 16th Century Turkish royalty--the 19th Century "dolman sleeve" was a sleeve set into a very low armscye (armhole) sometimes so low it extended to the waistline, in which case there will be no underarm seam in the top. Dolman sleeves were very popular in ladies clothing during the Civil War. They had the effect of making the shoulders look sloped therefore minimizing the appearance of the waist.-Wikipedia, 2014.
