Inspired by the warm colors and earthy textures of Autumn leaves, we created two, multifaceted looks today from Kick It's growing Fall collection of everything from sweaters to scarves and boots to bags. We went bold with our color mixes yearning to mimic the falling Maple leaves outside our shop door. We weren't concerned with matchy-matching, but rather, mixed color values that work in harmony.

Hints of Winter
featuring wine, cream, stone, charcoal and black
As the chill of Winter looms, we want to layer up. Here, we started with one of the season's hottest colors: dark red wine. Notice how this modal top (by Fascination, $32) is tapered at the waist and sleeves, yet loose and floaty on top, which is so flattering. Modal fabrics always drape so beautifully. |
We chose a patterned knee sock with similar colors to peek out of the top of the boot! |
Next, we layered a french terry tunic in Stone Grey by Tea & Roses ($42) over the burgundy top but left the sleeves and hem peeking out for color pop. |
Stretchy, narrow "midi" skirts are a cool and unusual trend this season. Here, we've got our MonoB velvet burnout skirt ($36) with tribal design. This intricate print really sets off the layers of solid colors. |
Don't be afraid of layering big sweaters on top of thinner sweaters on top of tee shirts. |
Our featured boot for this look is the dark charcoal slip-on engineer boot by Kensie ~all leather~ Made in Spain, $168. |
We finished this look with a patterned scarf and a deep Forest Green tote (Tosca, $46). The dark green plays on the black, while complementing the burgundy hues. |
When creating interesting Winter ensembles, consider investing in monochromatic colored gemstone jewelry because it goes with everything! Here, we chose a sterling silver and routilated quartz choker by Mrs. Robinson's Affair ($128). This One of A Kind, handmade stunner is Available at our sister shop Ponytail Jewelry Studio. |
A dark red belt brings the whole look together. This polished (head-turning) look is what we call Sleek Seattle Style! |

Autumn Afternoon:
featuring sage, rust, green, camel and teal
Gyro-print day dress by Purple Rain ($36) is the start to this look. |
Block print scarf in teal, rust and green instantly adds color drama. |
The rugged look of these all-weather boots (our new Alice Boots by BOS & Co., $238) feels edgy when paired with the feminine dress, yet the soft camel color works beautifully with the print. |
Next, we picked up the colors in the boot by layering a long camel sweater (by Evie $28). |
We finished the look with one of our new Stained Glass Window handbags ($49) that plays on the autumnal color palette. |
We hope you will try layering up your own mix of complementing Autumn colors, rich textures and Wintery accessories to create your own Sleek Seattle Style. Stop in the shop and let us help you find a few key pieces, too!
Happy Friday Kick It!
